July was a month of momentum. Much of my time was spent preparing for a major client implementation that would go live at the beginning of August. The work was technical, detail-oriented, and required balancing multiple workstreams at once. It was one of those months where progress didn’t always feel dramatic from day to day, but there was steady forward movement. There were certainly moments of frustration, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while continuing to sharpen my accounting and systems implementation skills.
Outside of work, I found myself intentionally making room for joy. Community continues to be one of God’s greatest gifts. Between church, Community Group, my support group, and friends around Los Angeles, I was reminded how important it is to walk through life with others. I continue to be encouraged by people who celebrate together, pray together, and support one another through joyful and difficult seasons. One of the blessings of living in Los Angeles is the abundance of cultural experiences available throughout the city. This month included concerts, museums, libraries and simply exploring LA with friends. These outings reminded me that rest isn’t just about slowing down—it is also about experiencing beauty, creativity, and community.
Health remained a steady focus throughout July. Routine appointments, lab work, and imaging all served as reminders that caring for my body is an ongoing act of stewardship. One scan revealed a fatty liver, which was disappointing to learn given my efforts to eat well and stay active. Rather than becoming discouraged, I’m choosing to see it as an opportunity to continue making small, sustainable improvements. Living with metastatic breast cancer has taught me that health is rarely about perfection. It is about faithfully caring for what God has entrusted to me one day at a time.
As July comes to a close, I’m grateful for a month that was full without feeling overwhelming. There were meaningful accomplishments at work, memorable experiences with friends, opportunities to serve at church, and continued evidence of God’s faithfulness in everyday life. Looking ahead, August begins with a major project launch and questions about what comes after this consulting engagement. While I don’t know exactly what the next season will hold, I continue to trust that God is already preparing the way.
