June was a month of finding God in the ordinary. There were no dramatic pivots like March or emotionally heavy seasons like April. After a busy season at work, life slowed down enough for me to focus on areas that are easy to neglect: my health, friendships, and simply enjoying everyday life. I’ve also become much more intentional about journaling. Even waiting a few days causes conversations, little observations, and emotions to fade from memory. Writing things down while they’re still fresh has become one of the best ways to recognize God’s faithfulness in the ordinary.
Health-wise, This month brought encouraging news. My routine scans remained stable, and conversations shifted from simply monitoring to improving long-term health. Rather than trying to overhaul everything at once, I’m learning that consistency in small habits often matters more than perfection.
Community continues to be one of God’s greatest gifts. Whether sharing meals, exploring museums, taking neighborhood walks, or simply sitting together over coffee, I was reminded that community is built through ordinary moments rather than extraordinary events. I also had opportunities to continue building connections through Exploring LA and watching friendships slowly develop has been one of the unexpected joys of this season.
As I reviewed my journal, I noticed something interesting. My gratitude list shifted over the course of the month. Early on, I was thankful for encouraging medical appointments and major milestones. By the end of June, I found myself thanking God for things like afternoon naps, shade from trees, a healthy lunch, good conversations, and quiet walks around the neighborhood. I’m reminded that I should not be waiting for extraordinary moments to experience joy, but learning to recognize God’s goodness in the ordinary rhythms of everyday life. June reminded me that God’s provision often comes one ordinary day at a time. “Give us this day our daily bread.” — Matthew 6:11
