Monthly Review: Sep 2026

September was a month of new experiences, celebrations, health follow-ups, and time with friends. The month started with a bang with k-pop concert and ended with a quieter season of reflection. There were concerts, birthday celebrations good food, and a reminder to make room for both fun and rest.

One of the highlights was attending my first BTS concert. I went with a friend who was also new to K-pop, and it was an incredible introduction. The energy of the crowd was something else! Later in the month, I went to the Hollywood Bowl to see OneRepublic. The concert ended with fireworks, making it a memorable evening. I’m grateful for opportunities to experience live music and enjoy the city in new ways.

Fellowship and Community was prominent throughout the month. There was an extraordinary Michelin Star Japanese dinner, Korean barbecue, birthday perks, and brunch with friends. I also enjoyed a Settlers of Catan game night and realized that I’d like to make more room for these kinds of gatherings. They don’t need to be elaborate or involve a large group. Sometimes a simple evening playing games and talking is exactly what I need.

Professionally, September was a relatively quiet month, which turned out to be a blessing when I came down with a non-COVID cold/flu thing that knocked me out for about a week and had a bunch of Dr. Appointments. It gave me room to rest rather than trying to push through a demanding project. I’m grateful for the flexibility that comes with consulting, while continuing to consider where and how I want to use my skills in the next season. The slower days at home gave me some space to rest, but they also revealed how easily my routines can drift. My night owl tendencies of staying up to 3-4am has completely ruined my sleep schedule and I want to be more intentional about getting back into a healthier rhythm. I don’t always need to fill my calendar. The most important thing is taking care of the basics and allowing myself to recover.

As September comes to a close, I find myself holding both gratitude and uncertainty. There were wonderful experiences, thoughtful gestures from friends, and reasons to celebrate. Perhaps the lesson this month is that stewardship isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes it’s about knowing when to rest, where to invest, what to ask for, and what to leave in God’s hands.
