Monthly Review: Mar 2024

Praises & Highlights

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, waving palm branches as the crowds did in Jerusalem and shouting, “Hosanna in the highest!”. Jesus predicted what would happen next multiple times.

From then on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and that he would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but on the third day he would be raised from the dead

Matthew 16:21 (NLT)

I wouldn’t blame Jesus if he wanted to take it easy and live out the rest of his days in peace. Jesus knew his death was eminent and yet did some of the most important work of his life. He washed the disciples feet, promised the Holy Spirit, lead the first communion at The Last Supper and fulfilled many prophecies about the Messiah. Jesus’s death itself being the most defining moment that we commemorate on Good Friday. This gives me hope that the most important work of my life is yet to come.
